குப ராவின் சிறப்பான நூருன்னிசா சிறுகதையை அற்புதமான தொணியில் சொல்லி இருக்கிறார் சிவா துரை. இவரது கதை சொல்லும் விதம் நான் சிறுவயதில் வானொலியில் கேட்ட புதினங்களை நினைவுபடுத்துகிறது. குரலின் இனிமையும் குரலில் ஏற்ற இறக்கமும் கதையை உள்ளுக்குள் இழுத்து செல்கிறது.

நாண் MTS இணைய வானொலியில் நண்பர் சிவா துரை அவர்களின் , ” ஊரும் உறவும் கதை சொல்லி ” நிகழ்ச்சியை வழக்கமாக கேட்பேன். அவரின் கதை சொல்லும் திறன் மிக சிறப்பாக இருக்கும் . நம் கண்முண் காணொலி போல் கதாபாத்திரங்களை அவரின் இனிய குரலால் கொண்டுவருவார்.

இந்த கதைக்கு உயிர் கொடுத்து உள்ளார் என்பது மிகையாகாது . கதையின் இறுதி பகுதியை கேட்டு எனது கண்களில் கண்ணீர். இதுவே அவரின் திறமைக்கு வெற்றி .

Who was way ahead of his times and left his legacy to cherish for ever , let me mention my views about this book reading.
Kudos to mr. siva durai for the fantastic narration. His voice modulation and diction was amazing.
Coming to the story – it just brought back my childhood days in trichy. The way ku.pa. Ra explains it .. goosebumps.. and it still remains the same every where ..innocent children and their friendship !
There is a place in story where ‘ noorunisa’’s beauty being described – ‘ oru sirumiyin mukkadita kuttramatra mugam’ . While listening to that line ‘ world famous photograph’ of the afghan girl ‘sharbat gula’ flashed into my mind .thank you shove .. your modulation was awesome while describing that mystic beauty.

Also there are few movies we could relate to this story . ‘Movie pokkisham’ where actress Padma Priya reminded me of ‘ qulam’s mother and her affection towards kids ,other movie is ‘96’ which revolves around trichy and lost love.Trichy still stands as an example for ‘ religious harmony’ with all famous temples mosques churches and colleges’

The photograph was taken in 1985,pokkisham released in 2009 and 96 movie released in 2018.
Ku. Pa. Ra left us before independence. Long live his legacy.
